Case Study - Trade crypto with a proven edge

Overview

Meta Signals is a cutting-edge crypto alerts platform developed in collaboration with prominent crypto analysts Eric Krown and K-DUB Crypto Zombie. Operating 24/7, Meta Signals leverages dozens of proprietary algorithms to scan 120 pairs across 10 time frames, generating real-time alerts on Discord.

At ProcessLabs, we had the privilege of bringing Meta Signals to life in a full-cycle NFT launch from strategy and artwork, to bespoke development and marketing.

Creative

The creation of the NFT artwork for Meta Signals was a multidisciplinary effort involving 2D design, 3D modeling, and motion design, which unfolded over several months by a talented team of designers.

To showcase the difference between trading with and without Meta Signals, we created artwork that visually represents this contrast. We also wanted to incorporate real trading data from around the time when Meta Signals was founded.

Producing these animated charts within a 3D design workflow was an interesting challenge, as, done manually, it would be very labour intensive. We developed a custom renderer that enabled designers to generate and animate trade data within the design pipeline, without prior trading knowledge or manual editing.

This bespoke tool helped streamlined the design process, and enabled Meta Signals to showcase real trading activity from within artwork itself.

Blockchain

To ensure early adopters received the best possible prices and to recognize their early commitment to the Meta Signals project during its beta phase, we structured the smart contract to gradually increase prices. By raising the price by 6% after every 100 NFTs sold, we aimed to reward initial investors and deter speculative bulk buying. This pricing strategy was particularly important to prevent speculation from overshadowing the project before Meta Signals could demonstrate its long-term value.

Additionally, the smart contract included a "soulbound" feature that restricted the resale of the NFTs until a majority of holders decided otherwise. This mechanism was critical in curbing premature speculative trading, which could depress prices before the true potential and performance of Meta Signals were fully realized in the market. By managing resale activities, we ensured that the focus remained on the NFTs’ inherent value and the project's developmental progress.

To further enhance the ecosystem, we integrated an on-chain affiliate system within the contract. This feature allows Meta Signals' partners to embed the mint functionality directly within their own sites or platforms, ensuring secure attribution of mints to their platform for affiliate payouts. All affiliate activities and payouts are enforced via smart contracts, providing transparency and security. This system not only expands the reach of Meta Signals but also incentivizes partners to promote the project, fostering a wider and more engaged community.

Integration

We tailored a custom version of our NFT-Inator dashboard to accommodate the needs of the Meta Signals team. This included advanced features such as a referral scheme, adjustable price curves, and soulbound controls. The customized dashboard allowed the expert trading team at Meta Signals to monitor and manage every aspect of the mint, from launch through to sell-out, all within a reasonable budget.

On the frontend, we build a custom minting component which could be integrated with the Meta Signals website and CMS, which was built simultaneously by another team.

The integration with the Meta Signals CMS (Gatsby) was essential to ensuring a seamless user experience, for both customers and staff. This included a live countdown timer on the Meta Signals website, which was connected to the dashboard and smart contract, ensuring a fair mint with all participants getting access simultaneously.

Analytics Dashboard

To better utilize the alerts generated by Meta Signals, traders need to understand the historical results of each trading strategy. While a full-fledged custom dashboard has been under development since the launch, traders needed this data as soon as possible.

We collaborated with Meta Signals to build a results dashboard, using Google's Looker Studio. While not as full featured as the upcoming custom dashboard, this stop-gap solution was deployed in under a week and can be updated from a simple spreadsheet.

Users are able to cut, slice and filter historical data based on different strategies, timeframes and trading pairs. The data dashboard provided valuable insights, enhancing users’ trading strategies and overall satisfaction with the platform. Perk Redemption Portal

The purchase of an NFT from Meta Signals included the optional benefit of redeeming 'perks,' such as free premium tools and services. To enhance the transparency and efficiency of this process, we developed a secure and user-friendly portal that was a significant upgrade from the previous manual method which relied on web forms. This new bespoke portal, integrated directly into the Meta Signals website, allows NFT holders to securely log in, verify their ownership, check for unclaimed perks, and redeem them.

The platform not only maintains a record of all perk claims but also includes a public search function by token IDs, which is particularly valuable for potential secondary-market buyers interested in the perks status of available NFTs.

This improved system has effectively streamlined the redemption process, safeguarding user privacy and ensuring a flawless experience. After its launch in February, the platform quickly demonstrated its value with over 500 users redeeming perks within the first month and receiving high praise for its ease of use and significant improvement over the older manual process.

Community & Marketing

Launching Meta Signals during a volatile market period required a robust marketing strategy and engaging community initiatives, especially given the high ticket price of the product. The marketing plan capitalized on the enthusiasm from investors and influencers impressed by the service's backtesting results, leading to a decision to stealth mint the NFTs shortly after finalizing the strategy. Influencers, who had tested the product themselves for several months, played a critical role in building credibility and trust by sharing their positive experiences.

A comprehensive marketing approach was deployed, including influencer campaigns, social media efforts, and community events aimed at highlighting the product's historical performance and future potential. This strategy effectively built anticipation and excitement around the launch, driving significant brand awareness. The influencer campaigns were particularly instrumental, contributing to the first 800 sales. The success of the Meta Signals launch underscored the importance of quickly establishing trust with the target audience, demonstrating the power of strategic marketing and influencer engagement in a challenging economic landscape.

Discord Management

We built a secure and user-friendly Discord server for Meta Signals to provide their community with easy access to alerts and a private members' area. Specific channels were created for each topic, allowing focused discussions and efficient communication. Custom Discord bots were used to ensure that only verified NFT holders or valid subscribers could access these channels.

Security was the top priority from the start. To protect members from scammers, a combination of trusted third-party and custom bots was deployed. These efforts paid off as the bots identified and blocked over 30 fake accounts impersonating staff members within the first week, and over 100+ accounts to date.

To provide round-the-clock support and moderation, we helped Meta Signals onboard three experienced moderators from different parts of the world. Their expertise in trading and different time zones ensures that the community receives continuous oversight and support, making it a safer and more engaging place for everyone.

Our choice of moderators and extensive network enabled us to find individuals with a strong background in trading. This strategic selection allowed the moderators to function not just as 'janitors' maintaining the server, but as valuable team members who provide guidance to newcomers and insightful opinions about individual trading setups and signals. Their expertise ensures that the community benefits from knowledgeable support, making Meta Signals' Discord server not only a secure and well-managed space but also a hub of trading expertise and valuable insights.

Our results
